A UOC Church Consecrated in Ivanivka, Odessa Region
The ruling bishop of the Balta Diocese consecrated a church in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.
Metropolitan Alexiy of Balta and Ananiv performed the great consecration of the church in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God in the town of Ivanivka, Odessa region. This was reported on Facebook by Andrei Kravchuk.
Following the consecration, which the hierarch performed on July 11, 2026, on the feast day of the "Troeruchitsa" Icon of the Mother of God, the Metropolitan led the Divine Liturgy in the new church.
The hierarch was co-served by the dean of the Rozdilna district, Archpriest Vyacheslav Tkachenko; the dean of the Ivanivka district and rector of the church, Archpriest Yaroslav Ushchapovsky; the dean of the Shyryaeve district, Archpriest Mykhailo Lyashyk; as well as the clergy of the Balta Diocese.
At the conclusion of the service, the bishop awarded the parish's benefactors with ecclesiastical honors of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and certificates of the Balta Diocese.
At the end of the celebrations, the rector of the church, Father Yaroslav, thanked Metropolitan Alexiy for the shared prayer and the consecration of the church. On behalf of the clergy and parishioners, he presented him with a gift of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.
As the UOJ reported, in the village of Mirony, the OCU seized the Pokrovsky church of the Balta Diocese of the UOC.
