The conclusion of the academic year began with the Divine Liturgy at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, celebrated by Metropolitan Feodor of Kamianets-Podilskyi.
In his sermon, the hierarch noted that the ministry of icon painting requires not only professional skill, but also purity of heart and a life of prayer.
Diplomas were awarded to the school’s eighth graduating class: Arsenii Honcharuk, Kseniia Seniv, Oleksandra Sivakova, Mykola Skopchak, and Anna Shyshkovska, who completed the four-year course.
The graduates presented diploma projects on Marian, Christological, and festal themes, including icons of the Holy Trinity, the Theophany, and the Nativity of Christ. All the projects received the highest marks from the school’s examination board.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Kamianets-Podilskyi icon-painting school had opened enrollment for the new academic year. The institution trains icon painters for parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and has already graduated eight classes of students.
