U.S. pastor calls abortion “blessing” and “act of love”
Presbyterian pastor Rebecca Todd Peters described abortion as a moral good.
Rebecca Todd Peters, a U.S. Presbyterian pastor and professor of religious studies, has said that abortion is a moral act rather than a sin, according to The Washington Post.
"Abortion is a moral good. Abortion is an act of love. Abortion is an act of grace,” and finally: “Abortion is a blessing," Peters said to the Community Church of Chapel Hill.
The pastor also urged churches to speak openly about women’s reproductive rights and stop stigmatizing them. Her remarks drew sharp criticism from conservative religious groups in the United States, which said Peters was attempting to justify the killing of unborn children.
As the UOJ reported, a transgender U.S. member of Congress earlier announced being ordained in a Protestant church.
