UOC parish in Kropyvnytskyi serves 18,000 free meals in 2026
Parishioners of the Annunciation Church in the Kirovohrad Eparchy have provided daily hot meals to local residents and displaced people since the beginning of the war.
Since the start of 2026, the community of the UOC Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in Kropyvnytskyi has prepared and distributed more than 18,000 free meals to people in need and internally displaced persons, the parish reported on its page.
The parish noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, more than 160,000 hot meals have been prepared and distributed at the church.
The charity dining hall has operated every day, without weekends, since the church was founded in October 2014. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the parish expanded its social ministry, regularly preparing full hot meals not only for low-income residents but also for displaced people.
In keeping with established tradition, the meal distribution begins with a common prayer, after which anyone in need may receive hot food.
The parish thanked its benefactors, donors, and all those whose support has enabled this social ministry to continue for more than ten years.
As the UOJ reported, the UOC parish in Kropyvnytskyi prepared 37,000 free meals in 2025.
