Court hearings in Metropolitan Arseniy's case postponed
The Chechеlivsky Court of Dnipro has postponed the hearing in the case of Metropolitan Arseniy due to the judge's illness.
On August 5, 2026, the next hearing in the case of the abbot of the Sviatohirsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy, did not take place, reports the Lavra's press service.
The Chechеlivsky District Court of Dnipro was to consider the question of a further preventive measure against the bishop, as the term of the previously imposed restriction expires on August 11. The prosecution filed a motion to extend the preventive measure in the form of nighttime house arrest. However, the hearing was cancelled because Judge Tetiana Bezruk is on sick leave.
The prosecutors appealed to the court president, requesting that the motion to extend the preventive measure be reassigned to another judge. It is not yet known when the next hearing will take place. The Lavra has appealed to the faithful not to leave Metropolitan Arseniy and the brotherhood without their prayerful support.
As the UOJ reported, the court had previously replaced Metropolitan Arseniy's round-the-clock house arrest with nighttime house arrest — it is precisely this restriction that expires on August 11, 2026.
