On September 18, head of the Kiev Patriarchate Filaret met with the US Republican politician, US Senator from Ohio Robert Portman. He thanked the senator for the constant support of Ukraine and handed him "a high church award" – the Order of St. Prince Vladimir of the 2d degree, reports the official website of the UOC KP.
At the moment, Filaret is paying a visit to the United States. The Embassy of Ukraine organized a reception of the "patriarchal" delegation and a meeting with the leaders of the Ukrainian community in Washington.
