Kidnapped priest from Kamianske released by Military Enlistment Office

Fr. Rostyslav Kalynovskyi has returned to his family and parish ministry.
On June 22, 2025, after four days of detention, officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) released Fr. Rostyslav Kalynovskyi. His family informed UOJ of his return.
As previously reported, on the morning of June 19, 2025, around 5:00 a.m., officers from the Kamianske TRC detained Fr. Rostyslav and took him to an unknown location. Without explanation, he was subjected to a military medical commission (MMC) and then transferred to the Pyatykhatky TRC. On June 20, he was driven around various military units all day, each of which refused to accept him.
Fr. Rostyslav serves a small parish that requires constant care and financial support. To maintain the church and provide for his family, he works as a metal caster at the “Kametstal” industrial plant.
His family circumstances are also difficult: his wife is a Group III disabled person, his mother suffers from severe asthma, and his brother is currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
