The protodeacon believes that under the pretext of "spiritual independence," the authorities are simply fighting against the canonical Church.

Protodeacon Vadym Novynskyi of the UOC  stated that under the pretext of ensuring "spiritual independence," Volodymyr Zelensky is actually doing everything to ensure the independence of Ukrainians from Christ. He said this in an interview with blogger Alexander Shelest.

According to him, "spiritual independence" cannot be ensured in this way, as it is a struggle against Christ and the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

"What is this? What is the concept of 'spiritual independence'? Independence from whom? From Christ. Again, I repeat – this does not happen. It is a struggle against Christ," emphasized the former MP.

"They want to deprive people of the most important support in their lives – our faith, which has been the foundation of the Ukrainian people for more than a thousand years. People without traditions, without history, without faith are very easy to control," stated Fr. Vadym.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Fr. Vadym Novynskyi, the UOC prevents the authorities from carrying out their anti-people policy.
