Larysa Zburliuk returned all state awards she received during Zelensky’s presidency.

A combat medic with the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, war veteran, and volunteer Larysa Brodetska (Zburliuk) addressed Volodymyr Zelensky in response to the revocation of citizenship from His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry. She announced she was returning all state awards received during Zelensky’s time in office. The video appeal was shared by the Telegram channel We Are with His Beatitude Onuphry, created in support of the Primate of the UOC.

“Mr President, you stripped Metropolitan Onuphry – a hero of Ukraine and a true patriot – of his citizenship. You took away the citizenship of a man whose prayers keep this country standing, whose prayers keep these soldiers holding a frontline, whose prayers keep them still alive,” she said.

The combat medic emphasized that she fully supports the UOC Primate.

“You also said in your address that everyone ‘like Metropolitan Onuphry’ should be stripped of citizenship. Let me be clear: every single word Metropolitan Onuphry has spoken in his life, every step he has taken, every deed he has done – I personally stand behind all of it.,” Larysa added.

She also stated that as a sign of her “deep condemnation” of Zelensky’s actions, she was returning all the medals and orders awarded to her during his presidency.

“Your actions are an insult to every Ukrainian. This Church [the UOC] is the largest denomination in the country. You’re spitting in their faces,” concluded the UOC parishioner.

As the UOJ previously reported, Zelensky’s decree revoking the citizenship of the UOC Primate was classified.
