Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy supports families of fallen soldiers
In the village of Krymno, clergy of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held a meeting with families of fallen soldiers, the UOC Information Center reports.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Kovel, the eparchial Department for Family and Youth Affairs, headed by Archimandrite Nifont (Omelchuk), organized the event as part of the “Support for Heroes’ Families” project. Psychologists from the Holoby Community Resilience Center and eparchial clergy also took part.
Clergy and relatives of the fallen soldiers held a memorial service at St. Michael Church in the village of Krymno. Archpriest Serhiy Nikoniuk, dean of the Krymno district, led prayers for the fallen. He conveyed Metropolitan Volodymyr’s gratitude to the families for the sacrifice of their loved ones, their steadfastness in faith and their loyalty to the Church.
After the service, participants continued the gathering at Villa Familia. The program combined spiritual conversations, psychological workshops, the making of personal resource boxes and informal conversation over coffee. “We share your grief, pray for your loved ones and want to be there for you,” the organizers said.
The “Support for Heroes’ Families” project assists families of fallen soldiers through prayerful remembrance, personal dialogue, psychological support and acts of human compassion.
As the UOJ reported, the UOC’s Izium Eparchy provided assistance to children evacuated from Kupiansk.
