The police have called the reports of a soldier’s murder at a monastery fake.

The Khmelnytskyi Eparchy, citing an official police statement, has refuted social media reports claiming that a soldier was murdered at the Starokostiantyniv monastery.

“This information does not correspond to reality,” stated the press service of the National Police. According to the statement, the 51-year-old man died of acute pancreatitis.

“Information regarding this incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Article 115, marked as ‘Natural death’. Law enforcement officers are working to establish all the circumstances of the incident,” the police press service reported.

Local community pages have also confirmed that the circulating reports were false.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy had responded to another fake story about believers in Krasyliv.
