Presidential Office chief highlights Filaret’s role “in restoring the OCU”
The senior official described Denysenko as an unbroken fighter for spiritual freedom and said his efforts in building the structure would be honored forever.
On March 20, 2026, Presidential Office chief Kyrylo Budanov commented on the passing of Filaret Denysenko in a post on Facebook.
According to the official, the efforts of the founder of the Kyiv Patriarchate in shaping the OCU were of defining importance for Ukraine’s modern history.
Budanov said Denysenko entered Ukrainian history as an “unbroken in the face of enemies” defender of state unity. He also expressed his “eternal respect” for the deceased.
Earlier, the UOJ reported on how Zelensky commented on Filaret’s death.
