Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry wished the Jewish community peace and described the story of Passover as an example of the journey from oppression to freedom.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official greeting to the Jewish community on the occasion of the beginning of Passover. The ministry addressed sincere words of support to Jews in Ukraine, Israel, and around the world.

The ministry said that the story of the holiday reflects a journey from oppression to freedom. “At a time when so many people are observing this holiday amid war, it is important to make every effort to ensure safety, peace, and the protection of life.”

In closing, ministry representatives wished the Jewish community a happy and peaceful Passover.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Foreign Ministry had said Ukraine is “fighting for freedom of religion.”
