Patriarch Porfirije congratulates His Beatitude Onuphry on his name day
The Primate of the Serbian Church congratulated His Beatitude Onuphry, expressing prayerful support for the Ukrainian flock during a time of severe trials.
Patriarch Porfirije congratulated the Primate of the UOC on his name day, wishing him strength and many years of life. The head of the Serbian Church stressed that he prayerfully shares the joy of the feast together with the Ukrainian bishops and flock. This was reported by the UOJ in Serbia.
“Brotherly love reminds Us of yet another joyful occasion for today’s spiritual celebration – Your name day,” Patriarch Porfirije said in his message. “We offer fervent prayers to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that He may grant You to His holy Churches in peace, health, and long life.” The head of the Serbian Church also wished Metropolitan Onuphry to continue “rightly dividing the word of Truth.”
Patriarch Porfirije paid special attention to the situation of believers in Ukraine, expressing support for the “much-suffering Ukrainian Orthodox Church.” He wished Christians patience amid trials and the swift restoration of peace. “We pray that the Lord may bring peace to troubled hearts, heal the wounds of suffering, and strengthen the faithful in their witness to the Gospel,” the Patriarch stressed.
“Commending ourselves to Your holy prayers, we cordially greet Your Beatitude with a holy kiss, wishing You to continue doing all things for the glory of God, for the good of the Holy Church of Christ, and for the salvation of the people entrusted to You,” the Primate of the Serbian Church concluded his greeting.
As the UOJ reported, the UOC congratulated its Primate on his name day in Feofania.
