Stepan Bandera is depicted in a suit in a fresco of the UGCC cathedral in Ternopil.

The interior paintings of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God of the UGCC in Ternopil include an image of OUN leader Stepan Bandera. The corresponding photo was published on the social network Threads by user cherry_m.

"Just don't take Poles to one of the churches in Ternopil," she wrote. The post sparked heated debate among commenters.

"On the contrary, do take them! Let them know these are our heroes. It was so and it will be so," stated Irena.

"Such portraits in a Church is called a brain disorder. What does Bandera have to do with the church?" objected Zinoviy Moroz.

"How funny it is to see Nazi killers hanging in your churches – places that are supposed to be sacred. So not only are you a bunch of bandits, but you are actually worshipping the devil, not God," wrote user Froach from Poland.

Another user published a photo of a stained-glass window depicting Stepan Bandera's father, Andriy, which is located in a Uniate church in the village of Koziv.

As the SPJ was able to establish, the fresco with Bandera is located in the choir loft of the church.

Previously, the SPJ reported that, according to Epifaniy, the OCU is proud when they are called Banderites.
