OCU supporters announced a meeting in Boromyky, accompanying it with insults and attacks on the clergy and faithful of the UOC.

On July 12, in the village of Boromyky in Chernihiv Oblast, OCU activists initiated a so-called "Religious Community Assembly" directed against the local community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its rector, Serhiy Illyushko, as reported on the Facebook page "Polityka i Kompromat."

In the publication dedicated to the upcoming meeting, OCU supporters use openly offensive language directed at UOC clergy. Priest Serhiy Illyushko is effectively attacked for maintaining his loyalty to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, while the community's position is being presented as grounds for public pressure.

The authors of the publication also turn to attacks on other UOC clergy members and their relatives. In particular, they mention the family of Priest Mykola Starchuk from Brusyliv, citing unverified accusations of a personal nature and presenting them in a demeaning manner. Such rhetoric appears not as an attempt to examine the situation, but as a deliberate campaign to discredit UOC clergy.

Furthermore, the text references the political past of Mariya Starchuk, who, according to the authors, previously ran for the district council as a candidate for the "Nash Kray" party. This information is used as an additional pretext for pressuring UOC supporters, even though it has no bearing on the right of believers to maintain their church affiliation.

Thus, the "religious community assembly" announced in Boromyky is accompanied not by a peaceful discussion of church life, but by an aggressive campaign against UOC parishioners and clergy. Instead of respecting the choice of believers, OCU activists resort to insults, labeling, and public harassment of those who remain in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Earlier, the SPJ reported that a fictitious assembly was held in Plоske to "transfer" the Pokrovsky church to the OCU.
