In the village of Pyshky, Khmelnytskyi Diocese, the 255th anniversary of the Pokrovsky Church was celebrated
In the village of Pyshky, Metropolitan Viktor led the Liturgy and a religious procession in honor of the 255th anniversary of the Pokrovsky Church of the UOC.
On July 15, 2026, in the village of Pyshky, Khmelnytskyi district, the 255th anniversary of the Church of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was celebrated, as reported by the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Diocese of the UOC.
The festive Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv Viktor. The church was built in 1771. The hierarch was co-served by the secretary of the diocese, Archpriest Dmytro Setko, the dean of the Stara Syniava deanery, Archpriest Ioann Zadvyrnyi, the rector, Archpriest Mykhailo Tovpyha, as well as clergy of the Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia dioceses.
At the Little Entrance, Metropolitan Viktor, by the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onufriy, awarded the rector, Archpriest Mykhailo Tovpyha, with a second cross with precious stones. The award was presented to the clergyman for his diligent labors for the benefit of the Church and in honor of the church's anniversary.
During the service, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for the soldier-defenders, for the strengthening of the state, and for all those who have suffered and are in need. At the memorial litany, the departed rectors, builders, benefactors, and parishioners of the church were commemorated, as well as fallen Ukrainian servicemen.
After the Liturgy, the clergy and faithful performed a religious procession around the church. Metropolitan Viktor congratulated the parishioners on the 255th anniversary of the shrine, and awarded the parish and benefactors of the Pokrovsky Church with hierarchal certificates of commendation.
Previously, the UOJ reported that in Bila Tserkva, local authorities are attempting to seize the monastery building from the UOC.
