Son of Nizhyn Eparchy priest killed at front
Oleksandr Vorobei, son of the dean of the Bakhmach district of the UOC’s Nizhyn Eparchy, was killed in Donetsk region.
On August 11, 2026, Ukrainian serviceman Oleksandr Vorobei was killed while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region. He was the son of Archpriest Viktor Vorobei, dean of the Bakhmach church district of the Nizhyn Eparchy, the eparchial press service reports.
Oleksandr was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023. He died at the age of 31. He is survived by his wife and young child.
Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful of the Nizhyn Eparchy expressed condolences to Archpriest Viktor Vorobei and his family.
The eparchy called on believers to prayerfully commemorate the newly departed warrior Oleksandr.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the son of a UOC priest of the Chernihiv Eparchy had been killed at the front.
