Monk of Svitiaz Monastery of UOC parishes in the war
The Volodymyr-Volyn Eparchy expresses condolences to the brotherhood of the monastery and calls on the faithful to offer fervent prayers for the repose of the cleric.
A monk of the Svitiaz St. Peter and Paul Monastery, Hierodeacon Niphon, was killed in the war. The cleric gave his life defending Ukraine, reports the Volodymyr-Volyn Eparchy.
Hierodeacon Niphont (Shendiapin) served at the men's monastery in the village of Svitiaz, Volyn. Metropolitan Volodymyr, the clergy, and the faithful of the eparchy expressed their heartfelt condolences to the abbot, the monastic brotherhood, as well as to the family and loved ones of the newly departed clergyman.
Orthodox Christians were called to offer fervent prayers for the repose of the soul of Father Niphon, that the Lord may grant him rest in a place of light, where there is no pain or sorrow, but life everlasting.
As the UOJ reported, a cleric of the Dnipropetrovsk Eparchy died of wounds sustained in the shelling.
