Expert: Sviatohirsk killers targeted victims in monastic clothing
Mykhailo Pavliv said the attackers in Sviatohirsk deliberately sought out victims wearing monastic clothing.
Analyst Mykhailo Pavliv, commenting on the killing at the Sviatohirsk Lavra, said the attackers deliberately selected victims specifically because they were dressed as monks. In his video blog, he pointed to what he described as careful planning by the perpetrators and a ritual element to the killing.
Pavliv noted that the attackers ignored the guard in the watch post, refugees, and ordinary pilgrims. “Their targets were specifically people who were wearing monastic clothing,” the expert stated.
He stressed that the surviving novice, Andriy, was also wearing a cassock at the time of the beating. “This was not a crime of passion, nor was it a killing committed under the influence of some substances that altered their state of mind. No – this was a cold-blooded, deliberate killing,” the expert insisted.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Bishop of Stuttgart explained why the Sviatohirsk killing is being kept quiet.
