New altar consecrated at Horodylovo monastery in Zakarpattia
On September 10, 2026, the feast day of St. Job of Pochaiv, Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv consecrated a new altar at a church of the UOC Khust Eparchy. The consecration took place at St. Panteleimon Monastery in the village of Horodylovo, the eparchy’s press service reported.
Following the consecration rite, Metropolitan Mark, who heads the Khust Eparchy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy. Special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for its defenders, for deliverance from the enemy, for those who have fallen into despair and lost their homes, and for all those helping people in need.
In his remarks after the dismissal, Metropolitan Mark congratulated the monastery brotherhood on the consecration and spoke to the faithful about the life and spiritual struggles of St. Job of Pochaiv. He called on everyone present to follow the saint’s example of faith, humility, patience, and love for God.
As previously reported by the UOJ, a vicar bishop of the Khust Eparchy performed a monastic tonsure at a monastery in the village of Lypcha.
