Kropyvnytskyi cathedral celebrates patronal feast
Hierarchs from several eparchies concelebrated at the festive Divine Liturgy in the cathedral in Kropyvnytskyi.
On the feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, a solemn service was held at the cathedral of the Kirovohrad Eparchy in Kropyvnytskyi to mark its patronal feast. The Divine Liturgy was presided over by Metropolitan Joasaph of Vasylkiv, vicar of the Kyiv Metropolia, the Kirovohrad Eparchy reported.
Concelebrating with Metropolitan Joasaph were Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv; Metropolitan Nicholas of Kirovohrad and Novomyrhorod, ruling hierarch of the Kirovohrad Eparchy; Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne, vicar of the Odesa Eparchy; as well as cathedral clergy and visiting clergy.
Following the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Theodosiy delivered a sermon to the faithful. During the Augmented Litany, Archbishop Diodor offered a prayer to the Lord for peace in Ukraine. After the Prayer Behind the Ambo, the hierarchs and cathedral clergy performed the rite of glorification of the Most Holy Theotokos before the cathedral’s patronal icon.
After the dismissal, Metropolitan Nicholas offered festal greetings to the hierarchs, clergy, and worshippers. Following the service, parishioners and guests were invited to a festive meal, during which the cathedral sisterhood served more than 500 meals.
As the UOJ reported, the cathedral in Vinnytsia also celebrated its patronal feast.
