ROC Primate removes Patriarchal Exarch of Western Europe from office
Metropolitan Nestor has been suspended due to the ecclesiastical judicial proceedings initiated against him.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia has removed Metropolitan Nestor of Korsun and Western Europe from managing the Patriarchal Exarchate of Western Europe, as well as the Korsun, Spanish-Portuguese eparchies and ROC parishes in Italy. This was reported by the patriarchia.ru website.
The decree of the Primate of the ROC states that Metropolitan Nestor has been removed due to the initiation of ecclesiastical judicial proceedings against him.
The reasons for the judicial proceedings are not specified.
The management of these structures has been entrusted to Metropolitan Mark of Ryazan and Mikhailov.
As reported by the UOJ, the ROC Synod has "retired" the vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC.
