Odesa Seminary completes entrance exams
Applicants to the choir directing, icon painting, and gold embroidery departments took their exams at the Archangel Michael Convent.
Odesa Theological Seminary has completed the selection of new students. Faculty members concluded entrance exams for the choir directing, icon painting, and gold embroidery departments at the Archangel Michael Convent, the Odesa Eparchy reports.
Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, spiritual father of the convent, led a prayer service before the exams began. With the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, the bishop celebrated the service together with the convent clergy. During the prayers, those gathered asked the Lord to grant the applicants wisdom, spiritual and physical strength, patience, God’s help, and success in the examinations.
After the service, the applicants proceeded to the entrance exams. They demonstrated their knowledge, creative abilities, and professional skills to the examiners. All the candidates showed their readiness to study their chosen art for future service to the Church.
As the UOJ reported, Odesa Seminary previously showcased the graduation works of its icon painting department.
