UOC Rivne Eparchy cleric visits priests serving in Ukrainian Armed Forces
Archpriest Volodymyr Pekach visited military units and training grounds, where he heard the confessions of clergy serving in the military and gave them Holy Communion.
Archpriest Volodymyr Pekach, head of the Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the UOC Rivne Eparchy, visited priests serving in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the eparchy’s press service reports.
During the meetings, the priest provided spiritual care to the servicemen, hearing their confessions and giving them Holy Communion.
The eparchy said that as part of his ministry, Archpriest Volodymyr visits servicemen directly at their places of duty – in military units and at training grounds. Such meetings provide an opportunity to support soldiers through prayer, spiritual comfort, and the Sacraments of the Church.
According to the Rivne Eparchy press service, priests serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their ministry by supporting their fellow servicemen and providing spiritual care to military personnel.
As the UOJ reported, UOC priest Ioann Polishchuk, who was drafted into the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a soldier, described on his Telegram channel Not a Chaplain the difficulties clergy face at the front, particularly amid the ban on UOC priests serving as chaplains.
