Kharkiv's gay community announces LGBT march
At the gay parade in Kharkiv, participants will demand the legalization of same-sex marriages in Ukraine.
Representatives of Kharkiv's gay community have announced an LGBT march as part of KharkivPride-2026. This was reported by kharkivpride.
It is stated that on September 5–6 a charity and educational PrideFest will take place, and on the 12th — the KharkivPride march. LGBT activists say they will gather together to allegedly remind everyone that equality and human rights cannot wait, and that Ukrainian legislation still requires changes.
According to the publication MediaPort, all events will be held in cooperation with the National Police.
Among the demands of gay activists are the recognition of same-sex partnerships and the legalization of same-sex marriages at the legislative level. The organizers will also demand stricter liability for hate crimes committed against their community members. The event will take place simultaneously with pride marches in Kyiv and Lviv as part of the so-called Pride Month.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, an LGBT pride march in support of Ukrainian military personnel had previously been held in Kharkiv.
