Bishop Ilarion consecrated a new altar at the Church of the Holy Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands of the Mukachevo Eparchy.

On August 29, 2026, Bishop Hilariy of Svaliava, vicar of the Mukachevo Eparchy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Image of the Savior Not Made by Hands in the Bystryi neighborhood of Svaliava. According to the press service of the Mukachevo Eparchy, before the service the UOC hierarch performed the rite of consecration of the new altar.

The bishop was concelebrated by clergy of the Svaliava deanery. During the Liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and for servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After the service, a moleben was celebrated, after which Bishop Hilariy addressed those present with a sermon. He conveyed to the faithful the blessing of Metropolitan Feodor, head of the Mukachevo Eparchy, and thanked the church rector, Archpriest Vasyl Popovych, the parishioners, and everyone involved in the improvement of the church.

As the UOJ reported, Bishop Hilary had previously consecrated a new altar in the Zakarpattia village of Stroino.
