Metropolitan Mitrofan wounded after UAV strike on Horlivka cathedral
On August 23, 2026, Metropolitan Mitrofan of Horlivka was wounded following a UAV strike on the Holy Theophany Cathedral in Horlivka, report Russian media, citing the head of the "DPR," Denis Pushilin.
According to Pushilin, the cathedral was attacked by a Ukrainian drone during a church service. In addition to the hierarch, priest Roman Stepin and two volunteers were also injured. The injured are reported to be in moderate condition.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the son of a priest of the Nizhyn Eparchy was killed at the front.
