The Northern Commercial Court of Appeal will consider an issue related to the future of the Upper Lavra on August 26.

On August 26, 2026, a court hearing will be held in Kyiv in a case concerning the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, specifically its Upper Lavra territory. The monastery’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, announced the hearing.

The session is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal, located at 1-A Sholudenko Street in Kyiv.

Archpriest Nikita warned of possible provocations by opponents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the day of the hearing. The faithful are being asked to remain calm, avoid responding to provocative actions, and refrain from confrontations with opponents.

The lawyer also asked the faithful to pray for a favorable resolution of the court case.

As the UOJ reported, Olena Zelenska opened the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen at the Lavra.
